Driving while either intoxicated or drunk is dangerous and drivers with high blood alcohol content or concentration (BAC) are at greatly increased risk of car accidents, highway injuries and vehicular deaths.

Let’s just reverse commercial interests in the US theoretically for a moment.

Let’s say that marijuana were legal and alcohol were not.

Marijuana makes people mellow, has no hang over effect, and encourages folks to stay home.

Alcohol produces rages, makes people want to fight, and hit the road.

Of course, the politicians in Washington have huge investments in the alcohol industry. Witness the Kennedys.

Countries who have legalized marijuana and other drugs have experienced a drop of 50% in drunk driving deaths and a 50% drop in murder rates the first five years.

Our laws make no practical sense. But they do make terrific sense if the people in power have invested heavily in the status quo.
